IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Classes have been approved for (See individual course descriptions for details of which course credits have been approved.):

  • MN Residential Building Contractor, Remodeler and Roofer credits through the MN Dept. of Labor & Industry (MN DLI). Select courses are approved for MN Energy. 
  • WI Dwelling Contractor Qualifier credits through the WI Dept. of Safety and Professional Services.

  • MN Real Estate credits through the MN Dept. of Commerce.

  • MN Building Official credits through MN DLI.

MN Residential Building Contractor, Remodeler and Roofer individual license holders must complete 14 hours of MN Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) approved continuing education (CE) courses within their two-year license period. One hour of CE related to energy codes or energy conservation measures applicable to residential buildings must be completed during each CE reporting period (courses approved for energy are noted). An eight-character individual QB (Qualifying Builder), QC (Qualifying Remodeler) or QR (Qualifying Roofer) DLI issued license number (such as QB######) must be provided at the time of registration to ensure attendees’ hours are correctly recorded when reported to DLI and printed on your course completion certificate. Individuals may obtain this number online by using DLI’s License Lookup at www.dli.mn.gov and searching by last name. DLI issued BC (such as BC######) business license numbers cannot be used.

WI Building Dwelling Contractor Qualifier individual license holders need to complete 12 hours of WI Department of Safety and Professional Services approved Dwelling Contractor Qualifier CE courses. Individual WI credential identification number must be provided at the time of registration to ensure attendees’ hours are correctly recorded. Individuals may obtain this number from their credential card or searching online at https://app.wi.gov/LicenseSearch. Business credential numbers cannot be used.

 

MN Real Estate individual license holders seeking real estate credit need to complete 30 hours of MN Department of Commerce approved CE within the two years prior to each renewal (there are special requirements – see the MN Dept. of Commerce website http://mn.gov/commerce for details). Individual MN real estate license number must be provided at the time of registration to ensure attendees’ hours are correctly recorded.

Contractor University will report course attendance to the above following each class. However, students are still required to keep a copy of all course completion certificates.
